White Water Rafting Adventure

Ton Patiwath Waterfall, Phang Nga

The programs we offer include white water rafting and a variety of other activities. All tours take you to the beautiful scenery of the Phang Nga region, just North of Phuket Island. You visit a wildlife sanctuary, trek through the jungle on an elephant, and then take a 4WD vehicle further up river where you find the rafts. You also take a walk in the jungle to a beautiful waterfall, where you can swim.

At the base camp, other tour groups from different provinces had congregated for the training. Warm sunrays filtered through thick foliage; the river could be heard in the nearby put-in site. The instructors from different companies gave a talk about a few safety measures, such as how to avoid colliding with stones, how to hold on to the raft with hands and feet, and how to avoid hitting tree branches along the way. If anyone happened to fall in the water, the professional guide said, the people in the raft should grab them by the lifejacket in order not to injure limbs. We were also familiarized with the raft, an inflatable boat that consists of very durable, multi-layered rubberized or vinyl fabrics with several independent air chambers. Each rft would be under the control of a professional river guide who woruld call out commands and help steer.

Finally, after a few minutes of theory, we were equipped with helmets, paddles and lifejackets, different colors for different teams, and boarded a large yellow rubber raft. Every team practiced team work in an enclosed reservoir built for the purpose. One instructor sat at the front and the other at the rear of the raft. We were trained on how to maneuver the raft, how to steer, how to paddle and to propel the raft forward and backward, and got a bit splashed in a water-battle between different teams. It was going to be fun, if we did not mind getter wet.

1330pm	Mini trekking to the waterfall, relax and swim.
1530pm	Back to the camp and depart Phang Nga town and head back to Khao Lak
1700pm	End of programe and transfer back to hotels.

0900am	Hotel pick-up and proceed to Phang Nga town.

1530pm	Back to the camp and depart Phang Nga and head back to Khao Lak
1700pm	End of program and transfer back to hotels.
